With 2022 just around the corner, and travel becoming easier once more, now is the time to get planning an exciting new adventure for the year ahead. What better option could there be than a visit to the jungle in Ecuador? Ecuadorian Amazon trips give visitors the chance to experience the fascinating wildlife of the rainforest region by getting deep into the jungle into well-preserved jungle territory. Yet, fear not, you won’t have to go without your creature comforts! Numerous lodges and cruises in this part of the Ecuadorian mainland offer a high level of comfort and luxury, for visitors to enjoy their trip in style, and they don’t skimp on service either.

We’ve picked out some of the absolute best luxury rainforest lodges and cruises for 2022. These are trips our customers consistently rate very highly. Visits to these places are easy to book and it is safe to travel to the Ecuador Amazon. We can find the best prices available for any of the lodges and cruises mentioned below. If you choose to visit one of these options you can enjoy fabulous service, all while getting up close and personal with the rainforest.

Sacha Lodge

Stunning Sacha Lodge is one of the loveliest places to stay in the Ecuadorian Amazon region. The lodge is located within 500-acres of pristine rainforest, allowing visitors the chance to encounter numerous types of birds and primates while simply spending time in and around the Lodge itself.

Two of the wonderful features of this option are its 940-foot canopy walkway and its observation tower offering a 360-degree view of the surrounding jungle. The rooms itself are fabulous – both comfortable and luxurious – and numerous attractions are nearby too. Even the journey to get to the lodge is itself all part of the adventure, as part of it is undertaken by dugout canoe.

Napo Wildlife Center

Napo Wildlife Center is another luxurious accommodation in the Amazon jungle region of Ecuador, which our passengers always love. One of the wonderful things about visiting this place is that it is managed and operated by a local indigenous community, so visitors know they are getting an authentic experience. This lodge, situated on the banks of the Anangucocha Lake boasts an observation tower and platform within its grounds.

The site is simply beautiful, and visitors here enjoy experiences such as searching for medicinal plants in the rainforest, in addition to the fun of seeking out the wildlife. When you’re done with the excitement of the day, downtime in your hut or suite is also very pleasant, given the comfort of the rooms here. If you want to stay in the Yasuni National Park, this is the only lodge to be found deep within this area.

La Selva Lodge

Another option that is simply stunning is glorious La Selva Lodge, set on the Garzacocha Lagoon. For birdwatchers in particular this is a really great option as it has the closest proximity to the Yasuni National Park Parrot Clay Lick. The bamboo bungalow rooms are not just luxurious but also stylish while not compromising on comfort. The staterooms even offer Jacuzzis. This place provides ample social spaces, in addition to the option of being able to get spa treatments – great for those that really want to kick back and treat themselves. All this, and the food and service are excellent too. What’s not to like?

Anakonda Cruise

For those that want to see a greater expanse of the Amazon on their visit to the jungle, Anakonda Cruise might just be the answer. Anakonda Amazon Rainforest Cruise offers 5-star luxury accommodations for a maximum of 40 passengers. The vessel has an impressive observation deck for splendid views across the rainforest. For the optimum rest and relaxation, there is also an outdoor Jacuzzi for passengers to enjoy. Some of the suites also have their own private balcony and hot tub.

Anakonda Cruise offers some fascinating activities and the opportunity to kayak as well. Itineraries available include a 4-day option, a 5-day option and an 8-day option. There is an opportunity to do camping in a “glamping” style with this cruise, for a minimum of two passengers.

Grand Manatee Cruise

Grand Manatee Cruise also provides its passengers to see a wider swathe of the Amazon than Lodge customers can experience in a short visit to the Ecuador jungle region. A cruise ship that is rated 4-star and first class, the vessel holds capacity for a maximum of 30 passengers. The boat was remodeled in 2020, and the accommodation offers comfort and luxury to its customers, including a massage shower in some of the rooms.

The social areas are lovely, and the excursions fun and interesting, including activities such as kayaking, canoeing, and swimming, among others. The service on this cruise is always highly rated and the staff want customers to get the most enjoyment possible from their time on the Manatee. For the adventurous at heart, there is also the possibility of doing “glamping” in combination with this cruise, for a minimum of two passengers.
