The Cachalote Explorer Galapagos Motor Sailboat was converted into a passenger vessel in the early 2000’s for cruising the best parts of the Galapagos Islands. It offers first-class service commensurate to its reputation by stylizing the guests' experience on the various parts of the islands. Itinerary Tower - North & South Islands
Day 1 (Wednesday) - SANTA CRUZ
AM: Arrival to Baltra
PM: Highlands of Santa Cruz, Charles Darwin Station
Baltra Island: Arrival at Baltra airport and transfer to the Cachalote Galapagos cruise for a briefing on board about the boat and the Galapagos islands.
Santa Cruz Highlands: The highlands are located in the northern part of the island and can reach elevations up to 1500 mt. Charles Darwin Station: It is an organization that provides scientific assistance to ensure the proper preservation of the Galapagos and its species.
Galapagos Wildlife you might see today: Vermilion Flycatcher or one of Darwin’s finches, Giant tortoises in the wild.
Day 2 (Thursday) - SOUTH PLAZA & SANTA FE
AM: South Plazas
PM: Santa Fe Island South Plazas: has one of the largest populations of land iguanas in the Galapagos, perfect place for taking amazing shots of these incredible animals. Santa Fe Island: A volcanic uplift that hosts a forest of Opuntia and Palo Santo. Endemic land iguanas are often seen here from up close. Wildlife you might see today: Red-billed tropic birds and swallow-tailed gulls, marine iguanas, land iguanas.Day 3 (Friday) - SAN CRISTÓBAL
AM: Witch Hill (Cerro Brujo)
PM: Galapaguera and El Junco
Witch Hill: Cerro Brujo is a beautiful white-sand beach full of pelicans, blue-footed boobies, sea lions and marine iguanas.
Galapaguera: A very good area to see tortoises in their natural habitat. El Junco Lagoon: Located in the highlands 19 kilometers from Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, there are many farms and ranches in this area of San Cristobal Island.
Wildlife:Pelicans, Blue-footed Boobies, and Swallow-tailed Gulls, giant tortoises, White-cheeked Pintail Ducks, Common Gallinules.
Day 4 (Saturday) - ESPAÑOLA
AM: Gardner Bay, Islet Gardner and Islet Osborn
PM: Punta Suarez
Gardner Bay: Gardner Bay has a magnificent beach with turquoise waters. The bay is home of a large colony of sea lions. Gardner and Osborn islets are important snorkeling sites of the archipelago.
Punta Suarez: Suarez Point is one of the most outstanding wildlife areas of the archipelago of Galapagos.
Wildlife you might see today: Galapagos Hawks, Española Mockingbirds, Waved Albatross, sea lions.
Day 5 (Sunday) - FLOREANA
AM: Punta Cormorant & Devil’s Crown
PM: Post Office Bay
Punta Cormorant: Cormorant Point offers a trail overlooking a saltwater lagoon that is a favorite of flamingos. Devil's Crown: Arguably the best snorkeling site in the islands, Devil's Crown boasts an amazing variety of marine life.
Post Office Bay: A white-sand beach where in the past sailors used to leave and receive their letters in a barrel.
Galapagos species: Pintail ducks, stilts, Large-billed Flycatchers, Flamingos, Rays.
Day 6 (Monday) - SANTA CRUZ & SANTIAGO
AM: Dragon Hill, Santa Cruz
PM: Sullivan Bay, Santiago Island
Dragon Hill: Your Galapagos trip on the Cachalote Explorer willl take you to Dragon Hill which is surrounded by Palo Santo trees and lagoons where flamingos can be seen and where the shy land iguanas live.
Sullivan Bay: A coral beach landing leads you towards a lava field as far as the eye can see. A truly amazing volcanic experience…up close and personal!
Species you can see today: Green sea turtles, penguins and reef sharks, Land iguana, flamingos.
Day 7 (Tuesday) - GENOVESA
AM: Darwin Bay
PM: El Barranco
Darwin Bay: A coral beach where a 750 mt. trail takes you through more seabird colonies.
El Barranco: Prince Phillip's Steps - an extraordinary, steep path leads through a seabird colony full of life, up to cliffs that are 25m high.
Wildlife you might see today: Storm Petrels, Storm Petrels, Short-eared Owl, Lava Gulls, lava Herons, Swallow-tailed Gulls, Great Frigatebirds and Red-footed Boobies.
Day 8 (Wednesday) - SANTA CRUZ
AM: Caleta Tortuga (Turtle Cove)
PM: Baltra Return flight
Black Turtle Cove: This shallow inlet is surrounded by mangroves and provides natural protection for a variety of marine life. After this you will finish your Galapagos cruise on the Cachalote with a transfer to the airport.
Wildlife: Sea turtles, lack-finned reef shark, the white-tipped reef shark, and the Galapagos sharks.
Itinerary Fernandina - Western Islands
Day 1 (Wednesday) - SANTA CRUZ
AM: Arrival to Galapagos
PM: Highlands of Santa Cruz, Charles Darwin Station
Baltra Island: Upon your arrival at Baltra islands in the Galapagos, you will be greeted by the naturalist guide of Cachalote and transferred to the yacht.
Santa Cruz Highlands: The highlands of Santa Cruz showcase amazing views of the surroundings and are home to many giant tortoises. Charles Darwin Station: This scientific organization provides a great exhibit of studies on wildlife preservation.
Wildlife you might see today: Vermilion Flycatcher or one of Darwin’s finches, Giant tortoises in the wild.
Day 2 (Thursday) - RÁBIDA
AM: Sombrero Chino
PM: Rábida Island
Sombrero Chino: Chinese Hat - the landing is on a beautiful crescent-shaped beach, home to sea lions and Sally Light-foot crabs.
Rabida Island: It is one of the most colorful and volcanic islands in the archipelago, it is also one of the best sites for snorkeling in the Galapagos islands.
Wildlife: Sharks, sea lions, penguins, and rays. Marine Iguanas, Blue-footed and Nazca boobies, Galapagos Doves.
Day 3 (Friday) - ISABELA
AM: Sierra Negra
PM: Puerto Villamil
Sierra Negra Volcano: the largest basaltic caldera in Galapagos, on the way up you can see lush vegetation and the summit offers a spectacular view of the lowlands. On the other hand Puerto Villamil town is a very interesting and small town of the Galapagos where you can learn about the islands' history and see how the locals live.
Wildlife you might see today: Galapagos finches.
Day 4 (Saturday) - ISABELA
AM: Punta Moreno
PM: Elizabeth Bay
Punta Moreno: Beautiful rocky shores where penguins and shore birds, including blue herons can be easily seen
Elizabeth Bay: As you enter the bay, hawks soar overhead and schools of fish can be seen swimming beneath the surface.
Galapagos wildlife on this site of Isabela island:Rays, flightless cormorants, penguins, pelicans, lava herons.
Day 5 (Sunday) - ISABELA
AM: Urbina Bay
PM: Tagus Cove
Urbina Bay: Its waters are a good place to see turtles and rays. Ashore you'll find a short trail leading to a coral reef.
Tagus Cove: An opportunity to see penguins as well as marine iguanas, Sally Lightfoot crabs and sea lions among many other important and unique wildlife species.
Wildlife you can see: Giant tortoises, land iguanas, flightless cormorants, hawks, yellow warblers, large-billed flycatchers.
Day 6 (Monday) - FERNANDINA & ISABELA
AM: Punta Espinosa
PM: Punta Vicente Roca
Punta Espinoza: Your Cachalote Galapagos cruise takes you to a narrow stretch of land where hundreds of marine iguanas gather largely on black lava rocks.
Punta Vicente Roca: The remnants of an ancient volcano form two turquoise coves with a bay protected from ocean swells.
Wildlife: Flightless Cormorants, Sally Lightfoot Crabs, Galapagos Penguins, marine iguanas, sea turtles, whales, dolphins, sea lions, tunas, Blue-footed and Nazca boobies, pelicans.
Day 7 (Tuesday) - SANTIAGO & BARTOLOME

PM: Bartolome Island
Puerto Egas: The trail leads to the coastline with gorgeous tide pools and grottos full of fauna.
Bartolome: This island is home of the Pinnacle Rock, the most famous view in the Galapagos Islands.
Wildlife you might see today: Fur seal, flamingos, Galapagos hawks, Green Sea Turtle, Galapagos penguins, Spotted Eagle Rays and Black-tipped Sharks.
Day 8 (Wednesday) - NORTH SEYMOUR & BALTRA
AM: North Seymour Island
PM: Baltra: Return flight
North Seymour Island: Explore the rocky coast, passing colonies of blue-footed boobies and magnificent frigate birds. Transfer to the Airport and end to the best Galapagos Cruise Tour on the Cachalote Yacht.
Wildlife for today: Frigate birds, blue-footed boobies, land and marine iguanas.
