If you’re thinking ahead to your Galapagos trip, you might be wondering which are the best Galapagos yachts and tours to take. With such a massive choice, it can be difficult to decide which is the best option for you, depending on whether you prefer a land-based Galapagos trip, or a Galapagos Islands cruise. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite options, and we’ve summarized our pick of the best Galapagos tours below, to make your life easier.

Cormorant

Running since 2011, the Cormorant Galapagos catamaran is a long-standing favorite with our Galapagos visitors who always give good feedback. This may be due to the unusual fact that this boat operates with a Quality Control Manager on board. We just love that this boat focuses so much on making sure that passengers have their best possible visit to the Galapagos, and with such a high emphasis on customer service, this Galapagos tour has to be one of our top picks.

Grand Majestic

The Grand Majestic screams sleek and elegant, allowing its guests to enjoy one of the most luxurious possible trips throughout the archipelago. We think this option will fare very well among the Galapagos tours. If you have the money, this is a superb option for Galapagos private charters, and if not, book a cabin, kick back and relax in the ample space aboard this truly lovely boat. Eight-day, five day and four-day itineraries are available.

Infinity

It’s hard to talk about the Infinity without saying “state of the art”, and if you get onboard you will see exactly why. The boat feels spacious too with the 10 cabins split between the main and upper decks. The social spaces are just perfect for relaxing, and the Jacuzzi adds yet another great place to chill out between Galapagos visitor sites. What is particularly special is the 20 guests are divided into two groups for each day’s activities, meaning you never feel that you’re with a crowd. This is one of the best Galapagos options for sure.

Natural Paradise

On the Natural Paradise Motor yacht, you’ll feel pampered and enjoy the fabulous service, with excellent staff-to-passenger ratios. As well as being a fantastic place to spend a week, the Natural Paradise luxury yacht offers some great gear for gettingthe best out of the Galapagos marine visitor sites, providing wetsuits, snorkeling  gear, and even an underwater camera. If that’s your thing, this may be just the Galapagos trip for you.

Santa Cruz II

We think Santa Cruz II is a top Galapagos option, not least due to its sustainability. As a larger vessel, it also offers better stability over some of the smaller yachts and catamarans around. There are excellent options for different family and group configurations on this boat, which has double, single, triple and interconnected rooms. This vessel is also recommended for its exclusive Galapagos Islands visits which aren’t offered by other providers.

Elite

An Elite Galapagos cruise makes our top trips for Galapagos partly due to its stability – a very important factor for passengers that are concerned about sea sickness. But that is far from all that this fabulous boat has to offer. Think light and panoramas, and you’ll have a good concept of what the design of this brand-new boat is all about. There are also some very good options for families travelling together on this vessel.

Calipso

The Calipso Galapagos yacht was newly refurbished for 2019, and the feedback we’ve had from guests has been outstanding, meaning this boat has to make our Galapagos top trips list. One of the unique aspects of the Calipso yacht is that it offers naturalist trips and diving trips, so it is an excellent luxury option for those seeking liveaboard diving Galapagos trips too. The boat benefits from a well-designed dive deck, well suited to those visiting for this activity. This aside, there is also a lovely sundeck, a Jacuzzi, and a fresh, modern feel throughout this vessel.

Sea Star Journey

We think you’ll love Sea Star Journey, an award-winning yacht for Galapagos tours – but book fast as it is highly sought after. Designed for just 16 passengers, if you take a trip on this boat you can enjoy luxury, class and comfort as you tick endemic species off your must-see Galapagos wildlife list every day. Aside from the lovely shared social areas and the two Jacuzzis, the elegant cabins provide a perfect setting for relaxation, with their private balconies. Western, northern and southern island itineraries are offered, with the longest itinerary lasting six days and five nights.

Cormorant II

If your idea for the best Galapagos tour is to sail on a brand-new boat, then Cormorant II may well be the best choice for you. This brand-new catamaran only holds 16 passengers, but it benefits from a design that feels spacious and chic. There is a lovely sun deck and Jacuzzi, and the boat is considered ecofriendly in its operations. The views from the rooms are particularly stunning, given the panoramas offered by the floor to ceiling windows. You can take 8 day/7-night cruises on the Cormorant II, or a 5- or 4-day option.

Integrity Galapagos yacht

Luxurious, light and airy. There is plenty of space for relaxation both in the cabins and in the range of different social areas, such as on the sun deck, at the bar and salon, and even in the library. Rooms are well appointed, so while you’re on the waves you’ll feel as if it is home from home. The Integrity offers two different trips that run for 8 days and 7 nights, to enjoy the best of the Galapagos Islands.

Galapagos Insiders Multisport Tour

OK, we know we’re biased but we think you’ll love our Galapagos Insiders eight-day multisport tour, especially if you enjoy a vacation packed with activities. Our Galapagos adventure tour provides you with an opportunity to do hiking, biking, snorkeling and kayaking in the Galapagos, while also experiencing the wildlife that can be seen there too. You can snorkel off San Cristobal Island, hike on islands nearby to Santa Cruz, kayak around the Tintoreras islet, bike on Isabela Island and hike up the Sierra Negra volcano, as well as much more besides. If you’re an active person this is your ideal Galapagos trip.

Pikaia Luxury Lodge

A stay at Pikaia Lodge allows you to enjoy the Galapagos Islands in the lap of luxury and as such this has to make our Galapagos list of trips for this year. Pikaia Lodge offers land-based Galapagos tours, and guests may take a range of exciting trips to various centrally located islands. When aboard the M/Y Pikaia I, you can also expect comfort and luxury, with private air-conditioned cabins to relax in during cruising times. The lodge itself may only be described as splendid, and it is sat in 31 acres and has its own giant tortoise reserve. Rooms have fabulous, panoramic views. You simply will not want to leave when your trip comes to an end!

Finch Bay and Scalesia Lodge

For a luxurious land-based tour of the Galapagos Islands that benefits from accommodation at Finch Bay on Santa Cruz Island and Scalesia Lodge on Isabela Island, this is an outstanding option. Trip highlights include the Sierra Negra volcano, giant tortoise breeding center and Tintoreras Islets on Isabela Island, and options such as Bartolome Island, North Seymour Island, Santa Fe Island and the Charles Darwin Research Station on Santa Cruz. The variety of wildlife that can be seen on this trip is outstanding, and the time at Scalesia Lodge is particularly fun, given that this is a comfortable tented safari lodge.
